Insert the right-hand needle from left to right through two stitches instead of one, then knit them together as one stitch. This is called knit two together (K2 tog), and on the right side of the work this decrease slopes to the right.

It is often necessary to create a decrease that slopes to the left to balance a decrease that slopes to the right, when you are shaping a raglan sleeve or a V neckline, for example. There are two ways to do this, again your pattern will use abbreviations instead of full instructions.
This is called slip one, knit one, pass slipped stitch over (S1 1,K1, psso or in some patterns skpo)
1.Slip the first stitch onto the right-hand needle in a knitwise direction but without knitting it, then knit the next stitch.
2.Using the left-hand needle lift the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch and off the needle.

Knit two together through back of loops (K2 tog tb1)
This is worked in a similar way to K2 tog, but the stitches are knitted through the back of the loops, thus twisting the stitches. Insert the right-hand needle from right to left through the back of the first two stitches, then knit them together as one stitch.

この編み方はK2 tog(左上2目一度)に似ていますが、後ろ側から針を入れるのでねじれた目となります。右側の針を最初の目の向こう側より入れて、2目一緒に編みます。

Purl two together through back of loops (P2 tog tb1)
From the back insert the right-hand needle from left to right through the back of the first two stitches, them purl them together as one stitch.

糸を手前に出したまま、左側の2目の向こう側より右側の針を入れ2目一緒に編みます。

To create a slope towards the left, work as follows:
1.Slip the first stitch onto the right-hand needle without knitting it, then knit the next two stitches together as one stitch.
2.Lift the slipped stitch over the second stitch and off the needle. This is called slip one, knit two together, pass slipped stitch over (s1 1,K2tog psso).

To create a right slope insert the needle knitwise into the first three stitches and knit them together as one stitch. This is called knit three together (K3tog).

For a vertical decrease (where the center stitch remains central) work to 1 st before center st and continue as follows:
1.Insert the right-hand needle into the first two stitches as if to K2tog,then slip them onto the right-hand needle without knitting them.
2.Knit the next stitch, then lift the two slipped stitches over the knit stitch and off the needle. This is called slip two together knit one, pass two slipped stitches over (s1 2tog,K1,p2sso)

On a purl row the most usual method of decreasing two stitches is to work to 1 st before center st, then purl three together (P3tog).This is worked in the same way as P2tog,but insert the needle through the first three stitches instead of two.

裏編みでの3目一度はたいてい中心の編み目の一目手前で編まれます。この編み方は裏編み2目一度に似ています。右側の針を右より入れて3目一度に編みます。
